Walkway frolics abound

Hopping to it, N8N correspondent Amanda Bowcott files this report on Horsham Downs’ Walking and Wheels Wednesday.

It’s great to see many town families dropping their kids off to walk or bike and join the locals in the fun on a Wednesday morning along the 1.6km walkway.

Each week we look at who has been coming and to finish off the term’s activities we had a wee prize giving to those kids who have been with us every week – even in some quite dodgy “summer” weather.  Anton, Toby and Jackson B took the top honours this time around.  Lochy, Madison B, Kennedy, Brittany and Dion were hot on their heels!

HOP TO IT!
Also to celebrate the end of a great term and Easter we had a Hop Along recently. There was an Easter bunny hiding along the track giving away easter eggs to children with bunny ears or a tail. It was funny to see bunny ears on top of bike helmets and some of the older boys had bunny tails!

It has been great being part of this programme and much of that is due to the fantastic support from Bridget Dowsett and many other mums who have walked with the kids along the track.

Walking and Wheels Wednesday will be back in term 4!

Here are Amanda’s great pics, on a slideshow.

Thanks to all the mums who encourage their kids to get out of the car and get moving, and more so to the mums who ALSO get out of the car and get moving
See you on the track over the winter months
