Class about to start for new school

Rototuna Junior High School is set to welcome its first students next month.

With a roll of 610 students, the first day for the new school will be Thursday 4 February, says the Waikato Times.

While the builders are still on site, all will be ready for the first students in a fortnight.  Foundation principal Fraser Hill told the paper said new teachers are starting induction with all staff on board next Wednesday in preparation for the start of the year.

“We’ve spent quite a bit of time organising, preparing and we are all just really excited about getting the students here on site.”

He also said the school is looking for people from the community with various expertise to work with students and a teacher to develop learning around some subjects.

The official opening will be in term two.
