Our wonderful markets are having some quiet time for the winter but will resume bright-eyed and bushy tailed in Spring.

Gordonton Market spokesperson Judy Chrystall says it’s good to have a break.

“As winter drags on, the fog rolls in, and the wind starts to howl – in the past we’ve even had a few folk who lost their gazebo! It’s harder and harder to expect stallholders and the customers to endure inclement weather.”

The market, held in Hukanui Park on the second Saturday of the month (during Spring and Summer!) is always interested in talking to new stallholders – so if you want to know more about taking part, do get in touch, she says.

“Everyone have a good break over winter, and we look forward to seeing you again on Saturday 10 September,” says Judy.

Rototuna Market also says cherry pip to all  for the winter – organiser Catherine Cookson says she’s looking forward to being back for their third season this September.  “Take care everyone!”
