Victorian high jinks at Woodlands

WOODLANDS, Gordonton’s Victorian homestead, hosted its second Pioneer Fundays last week – an extravaganza of 19th Century delights and goings-on.

There were pony rides, vintage machinery, games and garden trails to hunt for gnomes and much more to be found at the Estate.  Better yet, the weather behaved itself beautifully and thousands turned out, from the district and further away.

Here are some photographic highlights from the three days of Victorian high jinks.

Playing Spillikins (pick-up-sticks) is serious work as the Fultons from Whitikahu demonstrate. From left, Hunter, Hollie, Fletcher and Fergus.

And I just can’t resist putting this one in!  Ellie telling Lady Black what she liked most about the day.  (The pony!)
