Rare sighting at Gordonton School

Gordonton School had an unusual visitor recently – a strange creature with long legs and a red  mane.

Number 8 Network – known for our ornithological prowess – thinks it’s a rare kind of stilt, possibly from Siberia.  Or it could be N8N’s Iris Riddell, helping out Wintec journalism student Libby Kissick with a photo assignment.  What do you think?

Oh yes I’ve heard reports of this rara avis – last seen spotted on the shores of Lake Taupo. Excellent wildlife photography from Ms Kissick.

What a great sight!!!!!Looks like a fairy to me, coming right out of the storybook and finding her way to bring the good news to someone…….
