The team from Gavins proved too strong for the home team at Woodlands, reaching an almighty 174/7 batting first.

Star performers with the bat were Doug (26), Stu (31 n.o.), Paddy (30 n.o.) and Phil (33 n.o.)

Mike put in a fine bowling performance for Woodlands, taking 4 wickets for 8 runs, and earning a well-deserved massage.

Woodlands’ chase began strongly, with Trevor hurtling sixes and fours towards the carpark and diners at the cafe, getting quickly to 35 not out. Shane (31) and Darren (26) also batted well, but it was all to no avail, with the score only reaching 148.

It was some excellent cricket, to be viewed with summer dresses, clinking wine glasses and beer bottles, all finished in time for the afternoon milking, and a cool dip in the pool for some lucky ones.

Lovely also to see fathers and sons fielding side by side, lots of laughs and great sportsmanship for the two local teams.

Bailey senior and junior enjoy the game.
