Fashion fundraiser at Horsham Downs

Horsham Downs Community Church is holding a fashion show on Saturday 25 May, at the Church. The show will feature clothes designed by Robyn Robertson ‘Woman of Joppa’ and starts at 7pm. There will also be a fashion parade of upcycled clothing and wearable art, gourmet treats and clothing will be available for purchase. Tickets $20. All proceeds to Hospice Waikato Wellness Centre. Gordonton Country Market coming soon

The next Gordonton Country Market starts at 8.30am to 1 o’clock, rain or shine. Held on the second Saturday of every month. Crafts, Devonshire teas, artwork, food, fresh fruit and vege and much more besides. Also, The Oakes Church have started healing sessions – members from 10 different churches pray for people. Battle ho!

Major Blunder and his army (The Fifth Waikato Dragoons Regiment, Northern Command) come to Puketaha twice this year, the first in Augsut, then in September. August will be the first of the Great War Performance Tours, at Puketaha School. Following a presentation at (approx 1030 hours) on the development of the Great War in 1914, and a final preparation phase wherein the sinews of war will be manufactured, the student body will undertake a Visual Spectacle, to wit, a Pacifist Battle, to complete this unique learning experience. And on 21 September the good Major will present the Battle of Mons, also at Puketaha:
As a part of the Puketaha School Gala, the student body will undertake a Visual Spectacle, to wit, a Pacifist Battle, loosely based on the Battle Of Mons (23-27 August 1914) as a learning exercise. Time to be confirmed. We will keep you posted.
Anyone for tennis?
Gordonton Tennis Club has its annual Business House Doubles competition starting up again – and they’d love to see new faces. The doubles run for about seven weeks from 25 March, and there is a level of tennis that would suit most players from experienced men to a more social mixed competition. We are seeking stall holders to register their interest to attend the
Thames Monster Car Parade and Motorama Carnival to be held on the 22nd March 2014. (This is the Saturday BEFORE Beach Hop.)
Sites will be limited and allocation will go to the first 50 stalls that meet our criteria, so you are advised to be in quick.
