Spring has arrived, and with it comes a calendar of local events which I am really looking forward to.
I am always blown away by the biennial Artz Wearable Fashion Show and Exhibition. My wife Trish and I admire the flair and creativity of people and are amazed by the innovative design and ideas people come up with. We wouldn’t miss the show – maybe we’ll see you there, at the Huntly College Hall and Gym in Bridge St, Huntly, on Friday 12 October 2012, at 6pm. It’s going to be a fantastic evening.
The Ngaruawahia library is an important facility for Ngaruawahia and the surrounding communities, so it is great news that it will be reopening on Saturday 27 October. The return of the library to Jesmond St is expected to be a temporary move, for about two years, so we’ll be talking to the Ngaruawahia community about what best suits their needs in the long term. In the meantime we will all have access to the full suite of library services in Ngaruawahia.
An annual district event I particularly enjoy is coming up next month, the Garden Competition. Final dates are still to be confirmed, but we know it will be during November this year. Every year, I am inspired by the winning gardens entered in to the competition in our Onewhero-Tuakau, Huntly, Raglan and Ngaruawahia communities. Anyone wishing to enter this year’s competition can find out more here.
Being out and about in our communities, meeting local people and hearing your thoughts, ideas and feedback is always a pleasure.
However, if our paths have not crossed and you would like to get in touch with me, please send me an email and I will get back to you.
