After the flood

The sun rises behind flooded Kahikatea by Pukemokemoke reserve.

It was a beautiful Waikato morning and we thought we’d go up to the top of Pukemokemoke reserve to get some photos of the sunrise. But reckoned without all the rain the previous day – the Mangatea Stream had burst its banks and our gumboots weren’t up to the job of fording the flood. We did manage to get this pic however, so it wasn’t a total waste.
