Inorganic rubbish collection on its way

It’s time to start preparing for this year’s inorganic refuse collection.

From Sunday 2 November, Waikato Distric Council will be collecting inorganic refuse such as unwanted furniture, lawnmowers, carpet, televisions or appliances from households in areas that have a kerbside refuse and recycling collection.

General Manager Service Delivery Tim Harty says communities need to make themselves aware of the collection dates for their area and when to put their inorganic refuse on the kerbside. (For Gordonton and nearby, that should be the week starting Sunday 30 November but this will be confirmed.)

Residents are reminded to make sure their items are less than two metres long by one metre wide, and are placed on the kerbside on their specified day.

If you have any questions about your collection, contact Metrowaste on 0800 130 908.

Council will ensure communities are well informed about their relevant collection date through their website and Facebook page, mailbox fliers, posters, and local newspapers starting next week.
