The inorganic rubbish collection is on.
Waikato District Council says the collection began in the central southern area on a weekly basis, determined by the day rubbish is usually have collected.
It will then move up to the northern part of the district, determined by area.
Council asks for items to be put out the day before collection.
Collection dates for communities living in the central and south areas of the Waikato District Council area:
If your weekly rubbish and recycling collection is on:
Monday (Ruawaro, Rotangaro, Glen Murray, Whatawhata, Te Kowhai areas) – 19 April to 23 April
Tuesday (Huntly, Waingaro Road, Glen Massey, Pukemiro areas) –27 April to 7 May
Wednesday (Ngaruawahia, Taupiri, Horotiu, Gordonton areas) –10 May to 21 May
Thursday (Tauwhare, Tamahere areas) – 24 May to 28 May
Friday (Te Kauwhata, Puketaha, Meremere areas) – 31 May to 4 June.
What rubbish can be collected?

- Only properties that have rubbish and recycling picked up weekly are entitled to the kerbside inorganic collection.
- Residents also need to make sure that their pile of inorganic rubbish is a maximum of two metres long and no more than one metre wide.
- Anything over this amount will be left behind – it is then the resident’s responsibility to remove the remainder in a responsible way. Locations of transfer stations can be found here
- It is also important to remember that rubbish should not be put out on the kerb until the day before the week of inorganic collection.
