On the lookout for garden birds

Jun 30th, 2011 | By | Category: News, Out & About

N8N gets help monitoring garden birds from Marley the cat, who really knows her stuff.

We were taking part in the recent Garden Bird Survey, and on one sunny afternoon clocked up 14 species, including kingfisher, harrier, white-faced heron and mallard.

Hopefully we’ll be bringing you some results in the not too distant future.

The survey has been running for a few years now, and over time will give a useful picture of how the birds around us have changed. It is organised by Landcare Research, and you can find more details here.
