In search of the big bird

We’d heard of the famous Horsham Downs ostrich – but had yet to see her with our own eyes.  We grabbed the Auckland family who were visiting, the camera and set off for a Sunday morning stroll along the Osborne Rd  walkway.

We got directions from a friendly local who pointed us along Reynolds Rd, where right at the end, Mrs Ostrich grazed with poise and elegance.  Her owner came out and told us she was 12 years old and had been hand raised.

And I thought this was going to be a yeti-type tale. But the Horsham Downs ostrich is real. Are you going to tell Osborne about Ostrich? Feathers may fly! Random offering from the odd file: once made scrambled egg from one ostrich egg. Too much for four people!!

Question: Were they four big people or four small people?
