I’m free!

The hawkmoth that brought fame and rum to number8network has hatched. Or metamorphosed. Emerged, even.

The event happened Saturday evening at Gary the grader drivers house.
Resident bug expert David Riddell says he’s fairly sure the bug in question is a girl, because males have feathery antennae.

Her wings are a bit crooked, but otherwise she’s a fine speciman, he says.

To the left is a photo of Gordonton’s only known hawkmoth, and here’s a photo of grader driver Gary, who found her.

She’s a beaut.  From now on, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any more.

Oh.  The rum tasting will take place next week, in a carefully designed and controlled experiment, with a panel of experts.  Possibly.
