Rototuna’s new shopping centre is nearing completion, with seven shops already open for business.

Now seven freehold titles are on the market for the centre, on the corner of Thomas and Hukanui Rds.

The units are to be auctioned at Bayleys in Hamilton, on August 21.

Horsham Down’s photographer Claudia Aalderink took these images not long after the trees and roses were pulled out –

I know progress is something we can’t stop but it is sad to see those trees go. My childrens’ grandfather was born on that land many many years ago and went on to an important part of the farming community in the district along with his family.

Totally agree with you, Andrea. We’ve always loved driving past those beautiful trees and are very sad to see them replaced with shops. But as you say, there’s no stopping these things…
What a lovely wee snippet of family history, too! 🙂
