Arboretum’s grand opening
Three cheers to the re-opened native arboretum at Whitikahu Primary School.
The rural school, between Gordonton and Tauhei, celebrated with a special morning tea and performances from their very own Kapa Haka group, as well as tree plantings and classroom visits.
On a cool and cloudy Waikato morning, Number 8 Network received a great welcome from the gate keepers!

The Kapa Haka kicked off not long after.

The arboretum, once the site of a flying fox, was designed by a former student.

The trail heads off under a canopy of totara.

Well done Whitikahu!
