Home Range magazine on its way!

Yahoo!  Home Range magazine is hitting rural letterboxes this week.

The 24-page, full colour publication is packed full of local stories from Gordonton, Puketaha, Orini and Horsham Downs.

This issue has a lot of alpacas in it, with a feature on Dave Blom from Cornerstone Alpaca Stud and what brought him and his family from South Africa to Gordonton.   We talk to Chris May, the newish principal at Tauhei School and farewell Whitikahu’s Trish Wilson.

Kate Wilson, from Prof’s @ Woodlands Cafe, has written up her recipe for winter warming slow-cooked beef cheeks  – and we welcome Kate as a cooking columnist on Number 8 Network.

The Gordonton Rugby club of 1912 look grand in a photo in the History section, and there is a gem of a memory from a student who attended Komakorau School 70 or so years ago.  The stone steps and the gate are all that remain of the school itself…

And finally, The Farm Shop is making a special offer – every purchase made between 15 July and 11 August at the shop in Gordonton goes in the draw to win a gift box, valued at over $100.

Home Range is written and produced by Annette Taylor, who runs community website Number 8 Network, based in Gordonton.

The magazine is made possible with support from Waikato District Council, the Gordonton District Committee and the many wonderful local businesses who advertise with us. Thank you guys!

Home Range will be delivered to almost 3000 rural letterboxes north-east of Hamilton over three days from this Wednesday (10 July).

And let us know what you think. We’d love to hear from you.

Follow us on Facebook, send an email. You can also sign up to regular news emails from Number 8 Network.

Many cheers!

Annette
