Thieves strike at Gordonton Superette

In what’s been a very bad weekend for Gordonton following the abandonment of a campervan containing the body of murdered Australian tourist Sean McKinnon on Puke Rd, the Gordonton Superette was broken into Saturday morning.

The break-in was unrelated to the previous incident. A car, believed to be stolen, was used to smash into the front window.   Money and items from the counter were stolen but no one was hurt in the ram raid which happened around 4.45am.

When Number 8 Network took these photos a police forensics specialist was looking for fingerprints.

We are relieved that Bharati and her family and staff are all fine.

Shop neighbour Claudia Aalderink at The Mandarin Tree, summed it up well – “That will do for Gordonton thank you! We had enough!”

She also said Gordonton is a lovely place to live and work and wanted to put some happy colours out there.  Kia Kaha Gordonton!

And N8N will add some more lovely colour from Clandon Daffodils.
