Council working bee success

Around 350 staff members from Waikato District Council rolled their sleeves up for a Waikato-wide working bee – the biggest ever seen.

Council teams got stuck in weeding, picking up rubbish, painting and generally lending a hand at about 20 sites in the Waikato.

The chance to give back to celebrate a successful year was the purpose of the event, said Council’s Teresa Hancock, who spent the day painting at the Ngaruawahia playgroup. “It was so much fun!”
