If you’re not sure what help may be available or don’t know who to contact for help, call the free government helpline on 0800 779 997 (8 am – 1am, seven days a week).

The Waikato Council Emergency Operations Centre is up and running so if you are unable to reach the government agency you need, ring them on 0800 492 452.

“We can help you get the essentials you need as well as connect you with the right government department for ongoing assistance. ”

Number 8 Network has been in touch with members from the community who report people are looking after each other out there.
