Carols warm a wet night

The rain didn’t stop the Yuletide singing at Woodlands Carols Event last night – with folk coming from near and far to listen to the music and take part.

Actually, the rain was great, according to Kaidlin, left, and Samantha Strong, both world-renowned stompers from Hamilton.

The Hamilton Community Gospel Choir was in stunning form, and performed a selection of modern Christmas songs.

Debbie Shepherd sings solo.

The audience got a chance to join in with Christmas favourites, and then Rev. Carey introduced the second choir of the evening.

Liz Borrows, in a stylish Santa hat, and Lily Aitken, from Horsham Downs enjoyed the singing.

Outside, the rain continued to fall, and the penny farthings waited…

Seb Small (here with mum Anna) from Thames, won the coveted Christmas raffle.  Might have to cellar that wine for a while!

And then the rain (almost) stopped and the bikes came out.

It was a splendid evening, and N8N thanks all the people at Woodlands who worked hard to make it happen.  You rock!

What a lovely report on the Woodlands Carol Event.
Just as well you didn’t snap Rod and me on the penny farthings as I needed help to get on and off and Rod fell off to dismount!!!

It was a great night and we both thank you for being there and all you do to promote the District.

Happy New Year Annette and David,

    Regards Judy and Rod.

We missed the photo of the night! Just as well, otherwise we would have felt obliged to attempt to ride one of those new-fangled machines ourselves, and falling off is our middle name.
Happy New Year to you and Rod and we look forward to covering many similar, wonderful events in 2012. Thank you both for all your hard work in bringing such sparkling happenings to our patch of ground.
