A Givealittle page has been set up for a family who lost everything in a house fire last Tuesday afternoon.

The family of seven were attending a funeral and returned to find their home, on the corner of Bankier Rd, in flames.

“Unfortunately they do not have insurance and nothing was salvaged. With such a big family of seven we are trying to help them fund raise for simple everyday items,” says NikiĀ Hepehi who created the page.

So far, $1937 has been raised.

They needed help with everyday items, she said, “as they have nothing but the clothes on their backs.”

Four Fire and Emergency NZ crews helped extinguish the fire.
