The lawn mowing gang

Contry living  is great, says Claudia Aalderink.  The space, the beauty, the peaceful environment…

Back in Holland we lived on a 200 square metre section and of that 6 square metres was our lawn. Mowing the lawn meant twice back and forth with the push mower and that was it.

One of the downsides of living in the country here is mowing the lawns. That’s why we are lucky to have a mowing squad come in every couple of months and do the job for us. All we have to do is sit back and enjoy their company.

Elvis and cow

Elvis, our dog, shows them who’s boss on the property and demonstrates a kind but strict dominance. I’m not sure if it works, but we let him think it does.

Having the bulls grazing our paddock is a sight for sore eyes. We enjoy having them around and they are happy to have the space and grass to indulge themselves on. Their friendly, inquisitive characters are always reason for a smile on my face.

So there is not much wrong with living in the country. And the wind… ah well, we can live with that!
