New market for Rototuna!

Hip hooray – a new market is to be launched this weekend. On Sunday 21 September, the Rototuna Market gets under way at 10am.

Homemade produce
There will be homemade treats aplenty…

The market will feature local artists, musicians, locally grown fruit and vegetables and lots of crafts, says organiser Catherine Cookson.

A seasoned crafter, Catherine has taken note of the many markets she has had stalls at over more than 10 years, and is keen to bring a touch of the creative to the monthly event.

“Á wide variety of new products will be offered, there will be a huge craft village, a vintage corner, veg and plant section, games and lastly a very yummy food area with picnic tables for all the family to enjoy.

“At every market there will be old-fashioned games for children to play such as sack races, egg and spoon and three-legged races and much more.”

Catherine says the focus is on the Rototuna and wider Hamilton community. “We have involved local businesses on our Facebook page, through give-aways and we are looking to promote New Zealand-made products.”

Let the fun begin. Number 8 Network will be at the new Rototuna Market, on the dot of 10am this Sunday, camera in hand. See you there!

Rototuna Market is held on the third Sunday of the month, from 10 am to 2 pm – September to May.

It is held in the car park of the Waikato Waldorf School, Hamilton, 85 Barrington Drive. All of the stall fees go to Waikato Waldorf School.
