Warm welcome to and from Willow Glen!

Number 8 Network raced down to Willow Glen this chill morning and received the warmest of welcomes from the new team.  Take a bow, y’all!

The doors opened at 7am Monday morning, as Kylie and Richard Lundy and Jeff and Karen Neal braced themselves for their first day trading in Gordonton.  It was cold outside but they’d had the wood burner on early; the place was toasty, the smell of coofee lingered in the air and the cabinets were full of tempting treats.

“It was a bit nervous at the start but all the mums from school started coming in and various people – it was brilliant,” Jeff said during a quick break.

“We’ve had so much positive feedback, locally and Waikato-wide.  Everyone is delighted to see the place reopening, and are very cheerful and supportive.  ”

The team have spent the last five weeks flat-out preparing – painting, wall papering, cleaning – and he says they haven’t attacked the garden yet, which used to be owned by Eion Scarrow.

“It’s a work in progress.  We’re working towards having functions and weddings here.”

Number 8 Network has promised to return for a proper chat once things have settled down  – but in the meantime – congratulations and welcome to the village!

Hi Cass – you would need to contact the team at Willow Glen directly – the email is at the end of the story.
