Dog love: Echo the adorable

Echo

Cherie Baker runs DC Rescue Dogs in Gordonton. Number 8 Network regularly showcases a special canine star in need of a new home.

Meet the super cute Echo! A happy chappy indeed, this 12-week old lab cross is loving soaking up the heat in the house where he is being fostered.

As you can see, he’s quite the family man – at home with the resident cat and dog, and loves children.

Butter wouldn't melt in this one's mouth...
“Hey! Move over a bit young pup!”

Echo will go to his new home desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, registered with NZCAR and worm/flea treated. An adoption donation of $280 is asked to help recover part of his costs.

Adoption conditions include owner occupied and fully fenced properties.

Here’s a new idea to get behind.  Cherie says dog rescue is heart breaking at the best of times, and realistically is the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff.

“So if we could hit the problem head-on we could potentially save even more lives. Our new initiative is Desex-A-Dog, which will aim to desex as many females as possible.

“We will be targeting certain breeds, certain areas and certain owners in a bid to save more lives.
Backyard breeders are on the rise – we aim to make an impact.”

There is more work to be done, she says.  “We still need to launch a page, figure out the fundraising side and work out which providers to use and where but this is the start.”
