Homes needed for Anzac crosses

Anzac crosses

These white crosses need a home. The families of the soldiers they commemorate are invited to take these from the cenotaph.

They were collected by Commander Brett Fotheringham RNZN from the NZ War Graves Project last year, hoping local families could retain them.  Please feel free to pick one of these white crosses from the Gordonton cenotaph if you have a family connection.

The names are:

26/1193 L/Sgt C Hall

26/940 Sgt HC Welch MM

12/1452 Pte AJ Law

12/748 Pte JL Howie

12/2237 Pte H Carswell

13/472 L/Cpl GF Woodward

75078 Rfm DW Boswell

2/1895 Sgt CE Simmons

Local historian Alan Sharp took these photos from the morning’s service.
