Royal visitor

Hanging around:  N8N went to the big city for the weekend, and at Western Springs spotted this Royal Spoonbill hanging out with some pied shags.  Spoonbills are becoming more common in New Zealand, including the Waikato. So keep an eye out for them, they’re lovely birds.

Wouldn’t this shot be perfect for one of those “add a caption” games? You know the sort , where you add speech or thought bubbles to various characters and fill them with something hilarious.

I can’t think of anything funny – but it seems to be begging for something using “Why the long face?” ’cause that spoonbill doesn’t look exactly chirpy, does he?

You are so right, Megan. That spoonbill looks shagged out.

What are you “banging” on about? Are you casting aspersions on our Shag Gang?

Ha, ha – I think you’re brilliant, Pippa! Definitely the best laugh of the day!
